Three more students from Karamea Area School have joined a lengthening list of past and present students who have become the recipients of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - Aotearoa NZ Hillary Award.
Congratulations goes to William Galway, Laylah Galway-Philpott and Flynn Hansen who were all recently presented their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award at a School Assembly by Karamea Area School Principal Donna Donnelly. They proved themselves worthy recipients having dedicated a sustained effort over a few years to successfully complete each of The Award's four sections - Skill, Service, Physical Recreation and Adventure. All three also successfully completed the On Track Programme. Special thanks to Karamea Area School teacher Vicky Chandler and all School staff for their support and encouragement of Duke of Edinburgh's Award participants.
Search The Way Award Unit is looking forward to continuing to support all Karamea Area School students and other participants from around the West Coast and Upper South Island regions who are or would like to be enrolled in The Award Programme.
